Despite campaign promises from John McCain to get us off foreign oil and promises from Barack Obama to… well… not do anything to help the current oil situation other than maybe help raise the price of oil by taxing oil companies, as you can see from the video, they’re all full of it.

Fact of the matter is, as long as there is a problem with energy, politicians will always have something to campaign on. Getting out of the way of energy progress isn’t high on any politician’s list of beneficial career moves because once the public realizes they are part of the problem, not the solution, they won’t have a job. So they’ll just keep positioning themselves as an agent of “change” or a “problem solver”, but in the end, nothing will change except the mouthpiece.

Government never solves problems, it creates them. Never forget what Ronald Reagan said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help‘”.
